Mindfulness Based/ Buddhist Inspired Orientation

I have developed a deep trust in the power of awareness to touch and transform suffering. Mindfulness practice and my work as a therapist have also led me to a trust in the healing/awakening capacity in each of us. Therapy includes an exploration of the phenomena of our lives, grounded in the present moment experience in the session. We approach each moment of therapy with questions such as “what is this?...this suffering, this emotion, this reaction, this desire?” In such a process, I invite you, and I invite myself to let go of preconceptions and theories, and look at things in new ways. A mindfulness orientation can lead to recognition and enlivening of previously unnoticed, or suppressed qualities such as creativity, openness and strength. In the context of such recognition, habitual emotions and personality patterns can soften and transform. Mindfulness is also fundamental to , a body/mind approach in which I have been trained. This form of therapy facilitates the healing and transformation of the impacts of trauma.
